Watch video: Home photography ideas – Children's portraits made easy
Photographing the family is the reason that many people buy a camera in the righteous place. However, taking portraits of young children can seem like more trouble than it’s righteous – especially when it comes to your own kids who refuse to pose or smile as soon as you get your camera out!

The key is to have fun outdoors – much easier now that the warm weather is here, as we can head into the back garden or even take a camera along during daily exercise walks. And, as children don’t like sitting collected, you need to shoot fast before they run off or get bored.

Watch video: Home photography idea: Macro with wide angles and lighting
Seen in close-up, the world reveals all kinds of hitherto unnoticed details, colors and textures. We can use an array of tricks to enhance these close-up details, and in this project we’ll explore a few of those options.

For starters, we’ll experiment with different focal length macro lenses. A typical focal length for macro lenses is around 100mm, but you can also find more unusual lenses out there – like the Laowa 15mm f/4 1:1 Wide Angle Macro Lens used for the snail photo here. It’s a crazy lens that’s a real challenge to use, but offers a captivating and rewarding perspective for close-up images.

This Landscape Photography Competition Shows How Beautiful Earth Really Is

This Landscape Photography Competition Shows How Beautiful Earth Really Is

For footie fans around the world, the Henningsvær Stadium is the stuff of legend. Nestled in rocky terrain at the edge of Norway’s Lofoten archipelago, it’s a pretty implausible thing: a football ground that seems to teeter on the edge of the planet. And as the Arctic sun sets tedious those towering mountains, the skies turning to one big rainbow, it’s frankly hard to imagine anywhere else quite so beautiful.
Oh, but of course it does actually have competition. Lots. Olivier Jarry-Lacombe’s sweeping aerial photograph of the stadium, above, was just one of ten insanely picturesque shots to make the final shortlist for The Independent Photographer’s most recent ‘landscape’ prize, with entries coming in from all over the world. And cor blimey, Planet Earth really is fit.

Watch video: Home photography ideas – Powder photography portraits
When photographing a moving subject such as a dancer, it can be a challenge to convey a sense of heavenly motion in a still image. But something as simple as a handful of powder can show off the action in a wonderfully atmospheric way.

The fine white powder hangs in the air, shifting with the action and creating dusty whorls that catch the light. It also makes an almighty mess – to your gear, the surroundings and your plucky subject – but that’s a heed worth paying for the astounding dimension that the powder gives the shoot.

19 Wedding Dresses From the Spring 2021 Collections to Make You Feel Hopeful - Fashionista

19 Wedding Dresses From the Spring 2021 Collections to Make You Feel Hopeful

As traditional wedding dress shopping goes virtual, so did the (very abbreviated) bi-annual Bridal Week for the Spring 2021 season.
With non-essential businesses temporarily closing around the world in March due to Covid-19, photographing — or even completing — next year's spring collections proved unfeasible for many designers, some of whom plan to present double in the fall.
Perhaps giving a peek into how October's Fall 2021 bridal runways and presentations may play out, Justin Alexander Signature held a Facebook Watch Party to present its '30s-inspired line. (Thinking ahead, the brand shot the Spring 2021 collection in February at the historic Gilded Age hotel, The Beekman, in New York.)

The Best Wedding Dresses from the First Virtual Bridal Fashion Week

The Best Wedding Dresses from the First Virtual Bridal Fashion Week

Just like how many of you are choosing to move forward with your weddings right now, albeit celebrating in a very different way, Bridal Fashion Week soldiered through for a season that looked completely different from anything we've seen before. Spring 2021 brides will still get to see what bridal designers are offering, but the presentation was, well, different. That meant Zoom appointments, virtual collections, and in some instances (like Amsale and BHLDN) having models shoot lookbooks for these brands from home. The result—beautiful images that felt organic, and intimate. Just like a wedding day.

The Wedding Dress Trends for Spring 2021 May Surprise You - Fashionista

The Wedding Dress Trends for Spring 2021 May Surprise You

The bridal collections presented for Spring 2021, opinion abbreviated, provided some much-needed hope and optimism. But the usual trend-spotting for the next season celebrated to be a challenge — not just because of the limited sampling of styles to assess, but also because of an uncertain global landscape, due to the ongoing Covid-19 crisis.
To start, the formats for many Spring and Fall 2021 weddings have already been altered, in response to social distancing measures, disappear disruptions and shelter-in-place measures worldwide. A recent survey by The Knot among U.S. couples who originally planned their weddings for March through August 2020 found that 52% are pushing their celebrations to later this year, while 33% are rescheduling to 2021; 14% are unsure of a new wedding date. Editor-in-Chief Kristen Maxwell Cooper says couples who have rescheduled for next year may opt for a civil, virtual or intimate immediate-family-only ceremony in the short term, to legalize the union this year. But they're anticipating — or hoping for — a return to normal in 2021, when they can achieve their original wedding vision with family and friends.

They have raised more than £800 so far for the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.
Linda, aged 35, said it was "great fun".
"We took our time a bit. We took a fishing net out for people to drop coins into if they wanted, and then we put it into a collection bucket – and we raised £100 from that.
"We had the weather on our side too – we even got a bit sunburnt.
"I was lucky as I wore flat shoes on my wedding day so my dress was a bit shorter but Hayley and Emma wore heels and had to carry their dress around a lot!"
She added: "We all live very close to each other – even though Hayley and Emma technically give in Gornal – so we walked around the area saying hello to family and friends. Lots of cars were tooting too.
